Benambo Colonists

Benambo Colonists were discovered to have been stown away on the Brewer Colony Ship ‘Hire Works’ bound for Pi-1 Ursae Minoris today on May 11 3311, over 200 light-years from their home star.

During the surge of trailblazer colonization, with efforts by thousands of individual corporations and independent agent Commanders transporting materials to spread their influence into the stars, there has been with it, opportunities for things to go unchecked and awry.

Benambo, population currently around 230 million; a small terraforming system near the outer rim of Empire space. A distant 90 light-years from Achenar and 155 light-years from Sol, it lays between the territory of the Empire’s rivaling Duvals. Benambo Patron’s Principles, the patronage ownership of the territory, has been one of the several to expand to nearby system in recent months - surprisingly bold for its limited population.

More boldly, it’s been reported that over a thousand Benambans possibly managed to stow away onto the ship “Hire Works”, a ship contracted by Brewer Corporation for ‘Yoruba Co’.; a registered Federal corporate entity based in Yoruba. This colony ship was tasked with establishing a new station in PI-1 Ursae Minoris, a system with only a single G-class star. It did so successfully 10 May 3311.

This presence of Benambo Patron’s Principles here, in a expansion effort from Yoruba is peculiar: PI-1 Ursae Minoris is over 200Ly from Benambo, in Federation space – between territory contested by Jerome Archer and Edmund Mahon of the Alliance. Yoruba itself is an Alliance system, but Yoruba Co. is Federation - affiliated.

PI-1 Ursae Minoris is notable as the source of a millenia-old myth known as the ‘hidden light’, that insisted somewhere around its star was the alluded source of a gateway to a hidden star with a “second Earth.” To observers, this company is investing riskily in settling around what seems to be an empty star system.

There are to date, still no statements about payments between, nor affiliation or collaboration, between Benambo and the Federation or Alliance. For now, the colony settles and grows as normal – but two-hundred light years from Empire space, Benamboans loyal to the patronage are now establishing field offices far from home.
